Cash register programming in Las Vegas with the right sales tax (8.375%)

If your cash register charges the wrong tax, every sale of the day comes out wrong and the error goes straight into your sales tax return. We program it with you and leave it charging Clark County's 8.375%.

Why your register may be charging the wrong tax

In Las Vegas and all of Clark County, the sales tax rate is 8.375% (Nevada Department of Taxation). Many cash registers come out of the box with a tax table that doesn't match: on a Casio SM-T274 we programmed for a Las Vegas business, the factory Nevada table was set to 6.5%.

You can check it in a minute: ring up a $10.00 sale. If the receipt shows $0.84 in tax, your register is right. If it shows a different amount, for example $0.65, it's undercharging, and you end up paying that difference when you file.

If your register is a Casio, it no longer has factory support

Casio no longer makes or sells cash registers, and in March 2026 it closed its support and repair service (Casio's official notice). The registers still work, but if you need to change the tax, the products or the cashiers, there's no one left to call at the brand. That's where we come in.

We are an independent programming and support service: we don't sell registers, we're not a dealer for any brand, and we don't repair hardware. We program the register you already have or the one you buy.

What's included

Register up to date

We check your register and reprogram it with Clark County's tax rate, so every sale charges the right amount starting today.

Register ready to sell

On top of the tax: your products or departments, your cashiers and one hour of training for you and your team. The same if you use Square.

Register plus your numbers

We connect each day's Z report to QuickBooks and help you with your first sales tax return. More detail in the Z report and sales tax guide.

Sales and tax up to date, every month

If you'd rather not deal with it, we record your sales and prepare your sales tax every month.

Who it's for

Who it's not for

We'd rather say it before you invest your time:

  • Anyone who needs a broken register repaired: we don't repair hardware.
  • Anyone looking to buy a register or a POS system from us: we don't sell equipment and we're not a dealer. We tell you what to look for and program the one you choose.

How it works

  1. You message or call us. Send us a photo of your register and of a receipt. That tells us the model and the rate it's charging.
  2. We give you the price. After we see your register, not before: every model is different.
  3. We program it at your business. The tax and, if you asked for it, your products and cashiers.
  4. The $10 test. Before we leave we ring up a test sale and check that the receipt shows $0.84 in tax.

How much it costs

Every register is different: the model, how many products and cashiers need to be loaded, and whether you want the Z report connected to QuickBooks. That's why we give you the price after we see your register, not before.

Send us a photo of the register and of a receipt, or call us, and we'll quote you on something real.

Frequently asked questions

How do I change the tax rate on my cash register?

It depends on the model: each brand has its own programming mode, and many store the tax in a table rather than a single number. If you have the manual you can try; if not, send us a photo of the register and we'll tell you how it's done on yours, or program it for you.

What is the sales tax rate in Las Vegas?

In Las Vegas and all of Clark County it's 8.375%. A $10.00 sale should charge $0.84 in tax.

Does Casio still support its cash registers?

No. Casio no longer makes or sells cash registers, and in March 2026 it closed its support and repair service. The registers still work and can be reprogrammed.

Do you also set up Square?

Yes. We set up the tax, products and cashiers in Square, and connect it to QuickBooks if you use it.

How much does cash register programming cost?

We give you the price after we see your register, because every model is different. Send us a photo or call us and we'll quote you on something real.
