This notice explains what information we collect when you visit rumboestrategico.com, what we use it for, who we share it with and how you can control it. Written in plain language, with no fine print.
Who we are. Rumbo Estrategico is the firm of Francisco Camacho, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, dedicated to tax planning and tax preparation, bookkeeping and QuickBooks advisory. You can contact us at info@rumboestrategico.com or at (725) 337-2004.
1. What information we collect
If you only visit the site
You don't need to give us any information to browse. Even so, our measurement tools automatically collect technical information:
- Approximate IP address and general location (city or region, not your home address).
- Device type, browser and operating system.
- Pages you visit, time spent on them and where you came from (for example, a Facebook link or a Google search).
- Cookie identifiers and similar technologies.
If you give us your information
When you fill out a form, book an appointment, download the free guide or use the diagnostic, we collect what you type: name, email address, phone number and any detail you choose to share about your situation or your business.
The calculator and the diagnostic do not send us your figures. The calculations happen in your own browser. The amounts you type there are not stored or transmitted to our servers.
If you become a client
To provide the service, we collect the information needed to prepare your return or keep your books, which may include your Social Security number or ITIN, income information, tax documents and financial records. This information receives the enhanced protection described in section 6.
2. What we use it for
- To respond to you and serve you: answer your inquiry, schedule your diagnostic and follow up.
- To provide the contracted service: tax preparation, tax planning, bookkeeping and advisory.
- To send you useful information about tax topics and our services, if you gave us your information. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
- To understand and improve the site: learn which content is useful and which is not.
- To measure our advertising: learn whether our ads reach the people we are looking for.
- To comply with the law and respond to valid legal requests.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We have never sold it and have no intention of doing so. Nor do we exchange it for money with data brokers.
We share it only with providers that help us operate, and only to the extent necessary for their function:
| Category | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Site hosting | Cloudflare | Serve the site and protect it from attacks |
| CRM and forms | HubSpot | Store your contact information, schedule appointments and send you emails |
| Analytics | Google Analytics | Site usage statistics |
| Advertising | Meta (Facebook and Instagram) | Measure the results of our ads |
| Video | YouTube (Google) | Host and publish the videos on our channel — see section 9 |
| Authorities | IRS and state agencies | Only when the law requires it or you authorize us to file your return |
We may also share it with professional advisors (an attorney or accountant) under a duty of confidentiality, or if the law requires us to do so through a valid order.
4. Tracking by third parties
We want to be explicit about this: yes, there are third parties that may collect information about your activity over time and across different websites when you visit ours. Specifically:
- Google Analytics (identifier G-DT85TSDQZ3), for usage statistics.
- Meta Pixel (identifier 4563050340631213), which records visits and actions such as submitting a form or tapping a call or WhatsApp button, to measure our ads.
- HubSpot, which uses cookies to recognize your visits and link them to your contact record if you gave us your information.
How to turn it off
- Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Adjust your ad preferences on Facebook.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use private browsing mode.
- Turn on your browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
Turning off these tools does not affect your ability to use the site or to contact us.
5. Your rights and how to exercise them
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you.
- Correct any inaccurate information.
- Delete your information, except what we are required by law to keep (for example, filed returns and their supporting documents).
- Stop contacting you, or not sell your information (which, as we said, we do not do).
Email us at info@rumboestrategico.com with the subject line “Privacy” or call us at (725) 337-2004. We will respond within 60 days. If we need more time, we will let you know. To protect your information, we will verify that the request really comes from you before acting on it.
6. Protection of our tax clients' information
If you are a tax preparation or tax planning client, your information receives additional protections that federal law requires of tax return preparers:
Section 7216 of the Internal Revenue Code. A tax return preparer may not use or disclose your tax return information for any purpose other than preparing your return without your prior written consent. In concrete terms, this means that we do not use your tax return information for advertising and we do not share it with third parties for commercial purposes.
Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and FTC Safeguards Rule. As a tax preparation firm, we are subject to these federal rules, which require us to maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information.
We will never ask you for sensitive information —Social Security number, ITIN or tax documents— through regular email or social media. We use secure channels for that. If you receive a message that claims to be from us and asks for that information through those channels, do not respond, and let us know.
7. Security and retention
We apply reasonable measures to protect your information, including site encryption (HTTPS) and restricted access to the systems where it is stored. No system is infallible, but we work to reduce the risk.
We keep your information for as long as our relationship lasts and afterward for the period required by applicable tax and accounting obligations. If you contacted us but we never ended up working together, you can ask us to delete your information.
8. Minors
This site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a minor has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.
9. Our YouTube channel and use of the YouTube API
We publish educational content on our YouTube channel @rumboestrategico. To upload those videos automatically, we use our own tool that relies on YouTube API Services.
By using those services we are bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of information is also governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
What information is handled there
We want to be very clear on this point, because it is often misunderstood:
- Our tool does not access information about viewers or other YouTube users. We do not read comments, we do not look up subscribers, and we do not obtain data about the people who watch our videos or about any other account.
- The only authorization we use is that of the Rumbo Estrategico channel itself, granted by Francisco Camacho, and it serves a single purpose: uploading our videos and writing their title and description.
- What is stored in our systems is the credential that allows that publishing and a technical log of which video was uploaded and when. None of that data identifies any person other than the channel owner.
- We do not share that information with third parties, use it for advertising purposes, or combine it with the information you give us on the site.
Advertising and cookies on YouTube
When you watch our videos on YouTube, it is YouTube —not us— that may show you ads and place cookies or similar technologies on your device, under its own policies. We do not control that advertising, and we do not receive personal information about you from YouTube.
How to revoke access
In addition to our standard procedure for deleting the information we store, the owner of a Google account can at any time revoke the access granted to our tool —or to any other— from the Google security settings page. If that permission is revoked, we can no longer publish and we delete the corresponding credential.
Questions or complaints
If you have questions or a complaint about how we handle information in connection with YouTube API Services, email us at info@rumboestrategico.com with the subject line “Privacy” or call us at (725) 337-2004. We will respond within 60 days.
10. External links and services
Our site links to third-party services, such as HubSpot scheduling, the free guide download and our social media. When you leave rumboestrategico.com, that third party's privacy policy applies, not ours.
11. Changes to this notice
If we change this notice in a significant way, we will post the new version at this same address and update the effective date shown above. When the change substantially affects how we handle your information, we will also notify you by email if we have your address. We recommend reviewing this page from time to time.
