Tax preparation in Spring Valley, NV

For a small business, the federal return is only part of it. Nevada has its own business taxes, and they depend on payroll and revenue.

Spring Valley is unincorporated Clark County

Spring Valley is an unincorporated town administered by Clark County, so local business licenses are handled by the Clark County Department of Business License, not the City of Las Vegas.

Self-employed and contractors

If you get paid on a 1099 or through payment apps, that income is taxable even if you do not receive a form. Payment apps only have to send Form 1099-K when payments exceed $20,000 and more than 200 transactions. We help you track income and expenses so your Schedule C reflects your real profit.

Small businesses with employees

Nevada does not tax personal income, but employers file the Modified Business Tax every quarter. For most businesses the rate is 1.17%, and the first $50,000 of wages each quarter is not taxed, but every employer has to file even when nothing is due. Businesses with more than $4 million in Nevada gross revenue also file the Commerce Tax.

We prepare LLC, S-Corp and partnership returns and look at whether your structure still makes sense as your business grows.

How it works

  1. Call us. Dial (725) 337-2004 and press 1 for English. We go over your situation, which forms you need and what documents to gather.
  2. Send your documents securely. We use a secure portal. We never ask for Social Security numbers or tax documents by regular email.
  3. We prepare and review it with you. Before anything is filed, we walk you through the result and why it came out that way.
  4. E-file and your copy. Your return is filed electronically and you keep a complete copy.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the type of return and how complex your year was: W-2 only, self-employment income, rental property, or a business entity. Quoting without seeing that would be guessing.

So the first step is a free 15-minute call. We look at your case and give you a fixed price before any work starts.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to file the Modified Business Tax if I owe nothing?

Yes. Under the Nevada Department of Taxation, every employer files the Modified Business Tax return each quarter, even when wages are under the $50,000 quarterly exemption and no tax is due.

Do I need to file a Nevada state income tax return?

No. Nevada does not impose a state income tax on individuals, so most people only file a federal return. If you have a business, Nevada has other obligations, such as the State Business License, and we review those with you.

Can you prepare my LLC, S-Corp or partnership return?

Yes. We prepare individual returns and returns for single-member and multi-member LLCs, S-Corps (Form 1120-S) and partnerships (Form 1065).

I have unfiled years. Can you help?

Yes, we can prepare and file the years you are missing. Keep in mind that if you were owed a refund, the IRS generally only pays it if you file within 3 years of that return's due date, so it is better not to wait.

Can I do everything remotely?

Yes. You can send your documents through a secure portal and we go over your return by phone or video call.
