Paradise is part of Clark County, not the City of Las Vegas

Paradise is an unincorporated town administered by Clark County. The Las Vegas Strip south of Sahara Avenue is in unincorporated Clark County, outside City of Las Vegas limits. That matters if you run a business here: your local business license comes from the Clark County Department of Business License, not from the City of Las Vegas.

Tipped and hospitality workers

For 2025 through 2028 there is a new federal deduction of up to $25,000 per year for qualified tips. Tips must be voluntary and received in an occupation on the Treasury list of tipped occupations; mandatory service charges and automatic gratuities do not qualify. To claim it correctly you need your tips reported, a valid Social Security number on the return, and a joint return if you are married. It phases out above $150,000 of modified adjusted gross income ($300,000 if married filing jointly). Social Security and Medicare taxes still apply to tips.

We check that the tips on your W-2 match what you actually reported, and that the deduction is calculated on the right amount.

Overtime

If you work overtime, the new deduction is up to $12,500 ($25,000 married filing jointly), but only for the premium part of the pay, the extra "half" in time-and-a-half. Not the whole overtime check. Only overtime required by the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (hours over 40 in a workweek) qualifies; overtime paid only because of Nevada daily-overtime rules or a union contract does not.

Rideshare and delivery drivers

Driving for an app is self-employment. You report the income and can deduct real business expenses, like business miles, if you keep records. We help you organize them and estimate what you may owe for next year.

How it works

  1. Call us. Dial (725) 337-2004 and press 1 for English. We go over your situation, which forms you need and what documents to gather.
  2. Send your documents securely. We use a secure portal. We never ask for Social Security numbers or tax documents by regular email.
  3. We prepare and review it with you. Before anything is filed, we walk you through the result and why it came out that way.
  4. E-file and your copy. Your return is filed electronically and you keep a complete copy.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the type of return and how complex your year was: W-2 only, self-employment income, rental property, or a business entity. Quoting without seeing that would be guessing.

So the first step is a free 15-minute call. We look at your case and give you a fixed price before any work starts.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take the tip deduction if I do not itemize?

Yes. Under IRS guidance the tip and overtime deductions are available whether you itemize or take the standard deduction, as long as you meet the requirements.

Do tips still pay Social Security and Medicare?

Yes. The new deduction only lowers federal income tax. Social Security and Medicare taxes still apply.

Do I need to file a Nevada state income tax return?

No. Nevada does not impose a state income tax on individuals, so most people only file a federal return. If you have a business, Nevada has other obligations, such as the State Business License, and we review those with you.

Can you prepare my LLC, S-Corp or partnership return?

Yes. We prepare individual returns and returns for single-member and multi-member LLCs, S-Corps (Form 1120-S) and partnerships (Form 1065).

I have unfiled years. Can you help?

Yes, we can prepare and file the years you are missing. Keep in mind that if you were owed a refund, the IRS generally only pays it if you file within 3 years of that return's due date, so it is better not to wait.

Can I do everything remotely?

Yes. You can send your documents through a secure portal and we go over your return by phone or video call.
