These terms explain the conditions under which you may use rumboestrategico.com and hire our services. They are written in plain language, so they can be understood without an attorney.
1. Acceptance
By using this site, downloading our materials, booking an appointment or hiring any of our services, you accept these terms and our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site or hire the services.
2. Who we are and what we do
Rumbo Estrategico is the firm of Francisco Camacho, based in Las Vegas, Nevada. We provide:
- Preparation of federal and state tax returns.
- Tax planning and strategy for small businesses.
- Bookkeeping and QuickBooks advisory.
- Payroll and administrative support.
- Educational materials, guides and digital content.
3. The site's content is educational, not advice
Everything we publish on this site, on our social media, on our YouTube channel, and in our videos, guides, calculators and emails is general educational information. It does not constitute tax, accounting, legal or investment advice for your particular situation, and it does not create a professional relationship between us.
Tax laws change and every situation is different. An example that works for one business may be unsuitable —or costly— for another. Before making a decision with tax consequences, consult a professional who knows your specific numbers.
The site's calculators and diagnostic tools make estimates based on what you type. They are for guidance only: they do not replace a formal calculation or a return prepared with your actual documents.
4. When a professional relationship begins
Visiting the site, writing to us, booking a call or downloading a material does not, by itself, create a professional relationship.
We only work with you once both parties agree in writing on the scope, price and conditions of the engagement —usually through an engagement letter or a service agreement—. Until then, we assume no obligation to act on your behalf or to monitor your tax deadlines.
5. Scope of our representation before the IRS
We want this to be clear from the start, because it often causes misunderstandings.
Francisco Camacho is a tax return preparer registered with the IRS (PTIN) and a participant in the Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP). He is not a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), an Enrolled Agent, or an attorney.
According to the IRS, AFSP participants have limited representation rights. Specifically:
| We can | We cannot |
|---|---|
| Represent you before the IRS only with respect to returns that we prepared and signed, and only before revenue agents, customer service representatives and similar IRS employees, including the Taxpayer Advocate Service. | Represent you in appeals (Appeals) or collections (Collection). Nor can we represent you with respect to returns we did not prepare and sign. |
If your matter goes beyond that scope, we will tell you and point you toward a CPA, Enrolled Agent or tax attorney. We will not accept an engagement that we cannot legally handle.
We also do not provide audit, review or compilation services for financial statements subject to public accounting standards, nor legal or investment services.
6. Your responsibilities
Our work depends directly on the information you give us. By hiring us, you agree to:
- Give us complete, accurate and timely information, together with the supporting documents.
- Review your return or your reports before they are filed or treated as final.
- Keep your own records and receipts for the period required by law.
- Tell us about any notice you receive from the IRS or a state agency as soon as it arrives.
We do not independently verify or audit what you give us, unless we expressly agree to do so. Final responsibility for the content of a return rests with the taxpayer who signs it, as provided by law.
7. Fees and payments
Fees are agreed in writing before work begins and depend on the scope of the engagement. Unless otherwise agreed, they are paid upon delivery of the work. If the scope changes during the engagement, we will let you know and agree on the adjustment before continuing.
Our fees never depend on the amount of your refund. We are paid for the service provided, not a percentage of what you receive from the IRS.
8. Digital materials and refunds
We sell educational materials in digital format, such as the book Estrategias de Eficiencia Fiscal (Tax Efficiency Strategies). When you buy them, you receive a personal, non-transferable license to read them and use them in your own business.
Because these are digital products with immediate access, if the material is not useful to you, you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase by emailing us at info@rumboestrategico.com. We will process the refund through the same payment method.
9. Intellectual property
The text, videos, guides, templates, calculators, images and the Rumbo Estrategico brand are the property of Francisco Camacho, unless otherwise indicated.
You may read, download and share our free content for personal use or within your business, provided you cite the source. You may not resell it, redistribute it as your own, or use it to train artificial intelligence systems without our written permission.
10. Our YouTube channel and use of the YouTube API
We publish educational content on our channel @rumboestrategico, and to upload those videos we use our own tool that relies on YouTube API Services.
By using that tool and our YouTube-related services, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
In section 9 of our Privacy Notice we explain in detail what information is handled in that process —in short: we only publish to our own channel and we do not access viewer data— and how to revoke the access granted.
11. Third-party links and services
The site uses and links to third-party services, such as HubSpot scheduling, Stripe payments and our social media. Each has its own terms and its own privacy policy, which apply when you use them. We are not responsible for the operation, availability or content of those services.
12. Site availability
We try to keep the site always available and up to date, but it is provided as is. We may modify it, suspend it or remove content at any time, and we do not guarantee that it will be free of errors or interruptions.
Published content reflects the rules in effect on its publication date. Tax laws change: an article or a video from a year ago may now be out of date.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law:
- We are not liable for decisions you make based solely on the site's educational content, without having hired us.
- We are not liable for indirect or incidental damages or for lost profits.
- Where there is a contracted engagement, our total liability is limited to the amount of the fees you paid us for that engagement.
- Interest and penalties imposed on you by the IRS or a state agency because of incomplete or inaccurate information you gave us, or because of late filing for reasons not attributable to us, are your responsibility. If an error is ours, we correct it and take on whatever is our share.
Nothing in these terms limits liabilities that the law does not allow to be excluded, or the obligations imposed on us by Treasury Department Circular 230.
14. Confidentiality and protection of your information
Your tax return information is protected by section 7216 of the Internal Revenue Code: we do not use or disclose it for any purpose other than preparing your return without your prior written consent. As a tax preparation firm, we are also subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the FTC Safeguards Rule. The details are in our Privacy Notice.
15. Termination
Either party may end the relationship in writing at any time. If that happens, we will return the documents you provided to us and bill for the work performed up to that date. We may also decline or withdraw from an engagement if we do not receive the necessary information, if we are asked to act contrary to the law or to Circular 230, or if trust between the parties breaks down.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Clark County, Nevada.
If any provision of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the new version at this same address and change the effective date shown above. If the change is substantial and we have your email, we will also let you know. Using the site after a change means you accept the version in effect.
